In 2015 Star was acquired by Uniphar PLC, a €1 billion company offering end-to-end product support through three divisions – Supply Chain, Life Cycle Management, and Clinical Commercial. So while we’re not quite the corporate behemoth, we do benefit from significant infrastructure, investment and access to group services that help us make a genuine impact for our clients.

After gaining a degree in Law while enjoying life to the max, Dave has now spent over 25 years in the industry developing people to be the best they can be and achieving results for clients.
For Dave, a great day is when a Star team makes a sales impact for a client, when a Star recruiter places the perfect candidate in a fantastic position, and when a horse tip he has been given wins!
After obtaining a Management Science Degree from Keele University, Ryan worked in a number of commercial Pharma roles for over 20 years. He joined Star in 2016 after jumping at the chance to help build a commercial outsourcing business that is both enjoyable to work with, and delivers genuine commercial impact.
Ryan loves to navigate complexity, reduce ambiguity and help to deliver growth for our clients, all underpinned by recognising the changing healthcare landscape. When he's not working, he makes the most of his coastal location by surfing most weekends, and has developed a thick skin in his role as a rugby referee.
As Operations Director, Mark is driven to deliver excellence, and puts positive and rewarding client relationships at the forefront of everything he does. He recognises that Star's people and their development is at the core of what makes us unique and works to harness this talent every day, whilst maintaining process and building frameworks that allow the business to go from strength to strength.
Mark built his commercial expertise within the telecommunications industry and brings his organisational flair and attention to detail to help Star's teams achieve their goals. Outside of the office, he has a new-found love of running and the perspective it gives to everyday life.
With over 30 years of experience in Recruitment and Broadcasting, Mark loves to think outside the box and change the perception of clients and candidates on what a great recruitment service should look like. He thrives on challenging traditional thought processes and seeing the changes that a more positive outlook can bring to people's lives.
He champions the study of human behaviour and enjoys challenging the 'norm' with the motto 'everything is possible' - something that applies to his recent decision to take up snowboarding with his 11 year old son.
When he isn't in the office or learning to snowboard, Mark can be found testing his levels of common sense on his mountain bike, or skiing in the Italian or French alps.
Lucy is one of Star's co-founders and specialises in strategic direction, new business development, and customer focus. She works closely with clients to understand their challenges, and then energises the management team to create bespoke solutions that make an impact.
A Business graduate of Sheffield University, Lucy worked her way up at Procter & Gamble before winning the National Sales Manager role in Ireland. She met Tim Webster in the early noughties and returned to the UK to found Star with him, never looking back.
Lucy is fascinated by personal development and is qualified in various personal insight techniques, using her knowledge to optimise Star and client performance.
Having joined Star in 2005, Kate has seen the business grow from eight to over 300 employees. She works with her team to support Head Office and all of our teams out on the road, and is one the key reasons behind why Star is such a fantastic place to work.
Kate has not only introduced a number of work-life balance initiatives, but she also helped Star achieve Gold standard in 'Investors In People', and is currently working hard towards the company achieving the Platinum standard.
A graduate in Law, she is a lover of lists and making plans, and since joining Star has completed her CIM, CIPID Level 5, and MCIPD qualifications. When she isn’t working, Kate can usually be found planning her next adventures with her family in their 1970s campervan.
