Taro UK, established in 2000, is a branch of the global Taro brand; the latter has industry experience spanning 52 years, in the development, manufacture and marketing of generic medications sold worldwide.
Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd was founded collaboratively by Israeli pharmacists and American physicians, led by the Levitt and Moros families, with a view to providing help for patients in Israel. Despite initial political tensions in the Middle East making the sourcing of pharmaceutical ingredients difficult, the company went on to gain rights to multiple medications and has grown continuously since.
