Kent Pharmaceuticals Ltd was established by Denis O'Neill and Michael Overy in 1986. The launch of their highly successful Early Bird pregnancy test in 1989; acquisition of Athlone Laboratories Ltd in 1992, Polyfarma Ltd in 2000 and Worth Medical in 2002; development of an online electronic ordering and information system; and 2003 new distribution facility build, have all contributed to their current success as a privately owned organisation that provides generic, imported ethical and primary care products to NHS trusts, hospitals, pharmacies, dispensing doctors, dentists, vets and the MOD.
Kent Pharmaceuticals has over 1000 parallel import product licences across 9 different countries; Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. Their Regulatory Department processes new applications and variations as well as researching new blockbuster medicines.
Their manufacturing facility in Ireland produces beta-lactam antibiotics such as amoxicillin, ampicillin, cloxacillin, flucloxacillin and penicillin V. These products are available in three different forms - capsules, tablets, and powder fillings for paediatric syrups.
