Owen Mumford designs and produces a range of medical devices and disposables that are used around the world. The company started in 1952 by Ivan Owen and John Mumford and their first product was an improved version of the Macintosh Laryngoscope. During the 1960s they continued to produce anaethesia equipment and also progressed into injection moulding. In the 1970's the Autolet, the worlds first automatic lancing device was launched for people with diabetes. By 1987, Owen Mumford's involvement with diabetes care led to more devices that assisted in the care of diabetes, including the Unilet, AutoInjector and Accupen.
Owen Mumford makes products that assist with drug delivery and capillary blood sampling. In the field of sexual heath, Owen Mumford makes the Rapport range to aid and assist men to maintain erections. The product range includes vacuum therapy and rings that are placed on the penis to extend the erection time. The Amielle range assists women with post pelvic radiotherapy adhesions and scarring, and also provides treatment for vaginismus.
