
Paul Black
Business Development Director
Paul joined 3M Healthcare in 1999 following a successful sales career outside of the pharmaceutical industry. He used his sales experience to good effect to deliver commercial results in GP/Hospital/NHS Liaison sales roles before moving to his first management role in 2002. At the end of 2003 he moved to Lundbeck; from 2006 he worked as a Second-Line Manager with profit and loss responsibility for a number of business units. In 2008 he began his appointment as National Sales Manager for the Psychiatry portfolio; as National Sales Manager he successfully managed teams of regional business managers, key account executives and medical representatives, as well as integrating contract sales teams in to his working structure. Some of his notable achievements include the leadership of three major company restructure and realignment projects, the development of key account definition, planning and review processes, the creation of a localised approach to business which significantly increased Lundbeck’s
ability to respond to different markets, and his appointment as UK Lead for Lundbeck’s International Sales Excellence program.
Mike Cooper
Business Development Director
Mike Cooper has over 14 years’ experience in senior sales and marketing management roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Mike joined 3M Healthcare in 1989 where he excelled in GP/Hospital sales and regional sales manager positions before being promoted to National Sales Training Manager, during which time he was fully accountable for training in-house and outsourced sales / nurse teams. Mike cut his teeth in marketing with the Sexual Health Team, before becoming its National Sales Manager; in 2001, he was promoted to National Sales Manager for the Respiratory Sales Team. It was Mike’s experience of building accountable structures and managing change that caught Lundbeck’s attention; he moved to Lundbeck in 2003 to help with their continued evolution to account management. To list just a handful of his many significant contributions, Mike implemented Lundbeck UK’s Business Unit structure, led four major restructure and realignment programs – three of the four in conjunction with Paul - and was responsible for repositioning three major brands during his secondment to
Group Marketing Manager before leading the UK Neurology brand strategy as Neurology Sales and Marketing Manager.
