Applications are evaluated by the AERA Steering Committee, an independent board of experts who decide on the awarding of the grants, and provide strategic guidance to the AERA program. Tracleer - currently licensed for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. In the EU, Tracleer is also indicated to reduce the number of new digital ulcers in patients with systematic sclerosis, and ongoing digital ulcer disease.
Zavesca - small molecule therapy for the oral treatment of mild to moderate type 1 Gaucher disease. May only be used in the treatment of patients for whom enzyme replacement therapy is unsuitable.
Ventavis - is an inhaled formulation of iloprost, approved for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension.
